Building high deliverability with one effective solution to carry out e-mail and SMS campaigns

Rossmann is one of the biggest drugstore chains in Europe. Apart from Poland, it also operates in Germany, the Czech Republic, Albania, Turkey and Hungary. Due to the development of its proprietary IT systems enabling the execution of various business processes (marketing, sales, e-commerce, customer service), but also due to problems with exceeding the limits that occurred in case of emails, the company has been looking for a solution to effectively communicate through email and SMS channels.

Issues:

1.

Customers were either not receiving marketing emails or receiving them with significant delays due to lack of authorization from local providers. Without whitelisting by WP, O2, Onet or Interia, each mailing has time limits, thus messages sent over the limit did not reach the recipients. An attempt to solve the problem was the so-called infrastructure warm-up, which in the case of Polish providers does not give desired outcomes.

Rossmann started looking for a communication solution that would allow sending SMS and emails from different IT systems simultaneously using one platform.

The growing volume of emails resulted in the need for a solution with increased throughput, which would allow scaling according to the rate of growth of the database used to carry out mailings.

The client needed support in mailings analytics and a partner who would monitor the constantly changing requirements of local providers.

Solutions:

1.

Thanks to the decision to switch to EmailLabs servers, Rossmann significantly reduced problems with exceeding time limits and low bandwidth. Messages appearing in the WP Offers tab have also stopped displaying alerts when trying to access the Rossmann website.

2.

The use of Vercom API allows the client to send emails and SMS messages in many client systems. What's more, independently from this solution, the client can use the Web Application with the database coming from the API. As a result, it enables the marketing team to prepare, test, and execute marketing messages using the Web Application without having to involve the IT department.

Infrastructure implemented by EmailLabs offers dedicated bandwidth enabling fast execution of frequent email campaigns and SMS messages. High scalability allows adjusting resources to the rate of database growth, which enables the realization of trigger campaigns and carrying out multi-million mailings within 1 hour.
